Hawaii

This morning we returned back to the real world from our wonderful escape to paradise. This trip was so completely beyond anything that I had ever dreamed it would be! We arrived in Hawaii last Wednesday the 29th. We stayed in a beach house along with my parents, sister and her family and brother. Our backyard led directly out to Sunset beach with the most incredible view and crystal clear water, what a little piece of heaven to wake up to every morning! Here is a shot from our balcony. The first half of the trip we spent a lot of time with the extended family celebrating the marriage of my cousin Brett and his new wife Amanda, who is a wonderful addition to our family! Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was right on the beach, the reception had hula dancers, fire dancers and even an amiture hula dancer....ME! Thanks a lot Brett and Amanda, only cause I love you guys! Here are some pictures of the wedding, I don't have any of me as a hula dancer, because sadly at this point my camera had died!

We still had tons of time to just hang out and do absolutely nothing, which was my main purpose on this trip. In the first half of the trip all the boys and the Greg Wellens went scuba diving. Justin enjoyed himself greatly. They said there were tons and tons of fish to look at and a turtle. I don't have any pictures because we didn't think of getting an underwater camera, but Dad had one so one day I'll share those when I see them! We also went to Haleiwa, a little historic town on the North Shore. Lots of shopping and really good grub. We went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, swimming in the lagoon at Turtle Bay Resort, cooked up some really yummy local fish (ahi, mahi mahi, salmon) and at the end of the trip the girls went back to Turtle Bay for some Lukiluki style massages on the beach! It was a fantastic way to end a wonderful trip. I left all my stress in the ocean.

I feel bad that Leila is too young to really appreciate this trip. I know she wont remember any of it, but at least while she was there she had fun. She loved sitting in the water with Daddy at the lagoon. She did not love getting sand on her feet, my little princess hates being dirty! She was an absolute angel the whole time.

In the end we all had such a good time! I have so many cute pictures I wish I could post them all!! We're saying this will be a new annual tradition yo get together on the North Shore, so if you are interested in joining us start saving!! (We can dream right!) To the Gontareks--it was a fantastic and beautiful wedding! Congratulations and many years of happiness!! Glad we could celebrate with you!
