After the party we loaded the kids in the car and headed down to Houston. We made it down there in record time, no traffic! We arrived at Oma and Pops' house around 6:30 and started coloring Easter eggs. Leila didn't quite get the concept and at first tried to eat the little color pellet (they kind of look like smarties) then tried to drink the colored water. Finally she got the idea and colored a few eggs.
Sunday morning the kids discovered their baskets that the Easter Bunny left for them. Leila and Emmalene got books, candy and bracelets. Auntie hooked Leila up with some stick-um earrings, playdoh and rubber duckies and Oma and Pops got them some more candy a little bunny and some hair clips. We then loaded up the cars and caravaned down to Nana and Papa's house for some Easter lunch and egg hunts. We had ham and turkey all the sides and more deviled eggs than you would think we could handle...but we took them down! All the kids had a blast hunting for eggs in the yard. There were more than enough out there so everyone got tons! Leila and her cousin Braelynn sat down and ate every single piece of candy they got that day before we even knew what was going on!
Once we wrapped up the egg-stravaganza we loaded up the kids once again for the long journey home. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. What should have been a 3 1/2 hour trip ended up being 5 after we were stopped in a traffic jam caused by a wreck. Oh got to love some holiday traffic!

A great weekend (except that traffic!!). Great weather for the bday party! That's nice everyone could be outside. The girls look cute in their dresses
ReplyDeleteWOW! You did have a full weekend! I love the girls easter dresses! Too cute! That is funny how Leila was while trying to dye eggs. Rylee didn't get it either and then she didn't want tot make them "messy" so she didn't end up coloring ANY! haha
