5 days old!

Emmalene had her first check-up this morning with the pediatrician. Everything is looking good with her. She has gained 2 oz. since being discharged from the hospital, so that puts her weight at 5 pounds 4 ounces. (She lost 6% of her weight after birth which is actually less than average--average is 10%) She had a slight case of jaundice when we left the hospital, and it looks to be clearing up on its own. Emmie is a great baby so far! She is an awesome sleeper, the other night I actually had to wake her up to eat!! She also eats very well. She's had no problem learning to breast feed. That makes for a happy Mama! When she is awake she is very alert. She like to look around and check things out. We laugh at her because she likes to go cross-eyed a lot, she looks really silly when she does, especially when she sticks her tongue out at the same time. It has been really nice having these last five days to bond with her and just get a lot of snuggle time in. Leila has been in Houston with her Auntie and cousins this week. She is having so much fun playing with the Taylor kids. I am so thankful that Melissa was able to take her this week so that Justin and I were able to get settled with the baby and have a little special time with just her, but I am ready for my baby to come home! I miss Leila so much. This is the first time she's ever been away from me her whole life. I am excited to see how she will act around her new baby sister. I know it will be interesting to say the least, but it will be really fun too. I think Leila will come home Friday or Saturday. I can't wait to see my little LoLo again!!
