Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2009 was a great success! Leila gave Justin and I a fabulous present this morning by sleeping in until 9. That is always appreciated. We got up gave Leila breakfast and made coffee and then jumped right in to opening presents. Leila and Emmalene had tons of gifts under the tree. Santa was good to them this year. Leila had a lot of fun tearing open presents. Emmie ripped off a couple of bows, but left the unwrapping business to Sis. Both girls got tons of new toys. One of the gifts Grandpa and GramPam got Leila is a little guitar that she can play music on. She loves it so much, it's just like Daddy's guitar! She also got a bunch of new art stuff. Justin and I got her the Crayola Light Station, which is like the aqua doodle but instead of a water pen it has a light pen and you draw on light sensitive paper. It's cool because she can't color on my couch or carpet with it! She is pretty fascinated by it. Emmalene got a couple of toys that make music and light up which are always entertaining. She also got her first baby doll which I've named Barbara (since all of our toys have super unique names like "Baby" and "BearBear" I figured we need to start naming babies to tell them apart). After present-opening madness was over I made us our traditional Christmas brunch of eggs benedict and it turned out oh so yummy! The rest of the afternoon we just chilled around the house together playing with all the new toys. In the evening our good friends Rhiannon and Clint came over with their twin boys for a visit and to exchange presents for the kids. They got Leila a new stroller for her baby since her old one had seen better days, Leila was so excited! She pushed every baby and animal in the house around the room until bedtime. We dressed the girls up in their beautiful Christmas dresses that Nona sent to them and got all the kids together for a group photo. They turned out cute, it's so hard to get 4 kids to all look the same way and smile at the same time! Both girls are snoozing now, got to get that energy built up to break in all this new gear tomorrow! On Tuesday my parents are coming up for our Christmas with them and then are going to stay through the new year for Leila's birthday party on the 2nd. My sister and family will also come up for New Year's Eve and birthday celebrations. The parties just don't stop around here!
