The second half of 2011

Well, I haven't updated my blog since the 4th of July! Sorry world!! I've been so busy with work and school I just haven't gotten around to it. Here are a few highlights of the second half of 2011:

Leila started preschool in August. She loves going to school and has learned a lot. She can spell and write her name. She loves doing arts and crafts and is a pretty good little artist. Emmalene had a hard time adjusting to Leila going to school without her, but now she really likes her special time alone with Daddy. The usually go to the grocery store together to get dinner to make that evening and she gets spoiled by all of Daddy's co-workers with candy and cookies.

October 14th was mine and Justin's 5 year anniversary. We took a mini vacation to San Antonio where we stayed at the Omni Hotel, hung out on the river walk and ate a delicious dinner at one of our favorite restaurants Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Man was that a good dinner!!

October 22 the girls and I did the LLS walk with a big group of people from Wells Fargo. With the help of a bunch of family I was able to raise over $250 for the walk! The girls had so much fun. Before the walk they had a bunch of games set up for the kids, a bouncy house, a fun photo booth, and the Wells Fargo stagecoach.

For Halloween Justin's Dad and Pamela came out to visit us. The girls got to have a sleep over at their hotel, Grandma and Poppa brought them little firemen costumes (just like Grandpa!) and they took them to the Children's museum downtown. The girls had so much fun with them.

Halloween the kiddos dressed up as a fairy princess and a ladybug. The trick-or-treated down our whole street and the three little cul-de-sacs off our street. They made out like bandits.

November was Thanksgiving time. I took a whole week off work, it was amazing. I spent the week in Houston with my family. Justin was able to get Thanksgiving and the day after off work, so Wednesday night after he got off work he drove down to Houston to spend T-giving with us for the first time in about 4 years. It was so awesome to have my whole family together. Thanksgiving morning Dad, Daniel, Matt and I ran the Turkey Trot 5k. We didn't quite make our goal for the 10k, but we will make that a goal for Turkey Trot 2012.

December was a busy month for us as well. The first weekend the girls and I went right back down to Houston so I could go to the Texans game with Mom, Daniel and Matt. (they won and it was awesome) Then back home for more school work and crazy life. Finally one week before Christmas we found the time to get a tree and decorate the house. Christmas this year was really fun because the girls are at the perfect age to get really excited about it. They both asked Santa for pink scooters and were so excited Christmas morning when Santa delivered. Mommy and Daddy got them the other present the asked for constantly which were pillow pets (just like the cousins). Once again they made out like bandits, they got so many toys and clothes.
